The last evening of Sodermalm poetry festival https://www.facebook.com/events/1467189556828186/ , took place in Orionthetern (http://www.orionteatern.se/ or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orion_Theatre/), a beautiful hall perfectly designed for poetry reading.
We, poets from all over the world, had already couple of readings behind us. I thought I should read something short and light, while the artistic director, the poet and translator Boel Schenlaer, insisted on reciting my #littlebird. It's a long epic poem, but I decided to trust her.
The reading was, as usual, intenced and dramatic. I disturbed the Swedish reading from time to time, entering spontaneously with my Hebrew, and it became a dialogue between Swedish and Hebrew with all it's many layers and under-layers of meanings.
I had no idea that there was a film director in the audience. I realized it only when he introduced himself after the event. His name is Uzi Geffenblad. And I don't know whose idea was it, or how it all came true, but the next day I found myself looking for the studio in the address that he gave me, in the most beautiful area in the center of Sodermalm, where young artists presented their works. Boel also arrived from somewhere. The festival was already over and I was very happy to meet her once again.
Just in front of us was the beautiful studio of the photographer Ryszard Solarz. Ryszard and Uzi arranged the studio for the video recording and Boel and me started to read the poem, in front of the camera.
This is the result.
Thank you dear Boel Schenlaer for the translation and for the wonderful reading. Thank you Uzi Geffenblad for the Sound and the editing. And thank you Ryszard Solarz for photographing it all.
